The NELCO swinging door shielding system is designed, manufactured, and installed to meet the demanding requirements of Radiation Therapy departments and to maximize patient throughput and personnel safety. These doors can be manufactured in a variety of widths and installed using standard steel frames or custom steel frames built on site, for either new or retro-fit building conditions.

The standard swing door system includes a recessed steel frame developed by NELCO, steel-faced door and required shielding materials, a specifically designed operating system, precision engineered high capacity hinges, and installation. Optional features include additional safety features, door finishes, and a preventative maintenance program.

This model provides a full 4-foot clear opening when the door is in the 90-degree full open position, allowing accelerators to be brought in or out without removing the door. This design provides a more patient-friendly appearance.

Our standard installation package includes shipment of all components to the facility and installation of the door and operating systems. Frames that are to be set in concrete are installed by independent contractors. Frames that are retro-fitted to an existing facility are typically installed by NELCO, as is the operating system. Electrical work is completed by others with the exception of final adjustments to the electrified unit.
